My Stepping Stones requires all of their participants to pursue and education while enrolled in the program – whether that be a college degree or an industry certificate.  The participant will be encouraged to choose a nearby school and the career that will allow them to earn enough to support their family.  With that said, it must be a moral and lawful career.

          In order to be ready to pursue the higher education, any interested single parent who wants to enroll in the My Stepping Stones program will be required to either 1) have a high school diploma or GED or 2) be actively working on their GED.  Why is all this important?  Almost all higher education requires a high school diploma or a GED for entry into their course.  If, by chance, the participant’s training track of choice does not require a GED, then neither will our organization.
