“My Stepping Stones” exists to break the cycles of sin and poverty and to empower single parents and their children to lead successful lives by providing a safe and healthy living environment, by introducing them to Jesus Christ, by teaching and mentoring them in life skills, by increasing their employability and earning power through education and/or industry certification, and by phasing them back into society as independent and responsible families.  So, this program was created as a participant-phased approach to attaining a better future.  It exists in multiple consecutive phases or “stepping stones.”  As participants graduate from each “stepping stone” they will be required to accept more and more responsibility for their own achievement and will, therefore, receive less and less support from the program.  This graduated approach will prepare them incrementally to succeed on their own in the real world.
